As an artist, I understand that it is very easy to build up a whole stockpile of paintings, but have no-one to sell them to. My intention with Stroke of Colour is to look for buyers for all of us. Short and sweet, that’s my plan.

- Webpage on Blogspot. I will build and maintain a website for you with all your work on. This will include photos and information of your work. Value = About R2000 for setup and about R300 per month for maintenance. For an example of the website, take a look at http://strokeriaanwelman.blogspot.com (please – this is still a work in progress)
- An account on www.yessy.com – Yessi charges a subscription fee of $59 per year, which will be covered by your monthly subscription to me. I listed my work on this site and had 176 people viewing my work during the first 12 hours. I also had my first offer to purchase after 14 hours. This is a very popular online art gallery. - I intend to hold exhibitions at existing galleries, about twice a year. I just feel that people who come to a gallery, are coming to buy paintings. Other venues like tea gardens does not really have art buyers but lots of browsers. Although I will try my best to do 2 exhibits a year, I have to rely on the availability of such services from the Galleries.
- I will also contact as many interior decorators as possible to tell them about us, as well as keeping my ears to the ground for businesses or hotels who are revamping. I have a database of about 15 000 business contacts that I have built up through my years in the telecoms industry, which I will also try to sell into.
- I will also do all photography for the websites, if you have a problem with that.
- The subscription will also cover my expenses throughout the month, petrol, stationary, calls etc..
Due to the fact that I can only try to sell our work, I cannot guarantee sales in any way, I will not bind you into a contract period for the first couple of months. You will sign a document that states what you will pay me per month, what services I will offer for that payment and you will have to give me 30 days written notice if you wish to end the services.
After the first six months, you will be given the opportunity to sign one of various contract options or to end my services.
A 10% handling and admin fee will be charged on the selling price of all art works. You all know that other places take up to 40% or 50% commission. I think that is daylight robbery, therefore a small 10% handling fee and the monthly subscriptions seem to me more fair.
